NEWS:  Public Hearings Scheduled on Changes to Solid Waste Code
Johnson County has updated the Code of Regulations for Solid Waste Management and it is available for public comment. The Board of County Commissioners has scheduled two public hearings on the regulations for July 29: one beginning at 2 p.m. and the other beginning at 7 p.m. Both hearings will take place in the Board’s Hearing Room located on the third floor of the Johnson County Administration Building, 111 S. Electronic Recycling in 2010

Starting in April we will be accepting unwanted electronics such as computers, monitors, televisions, and printers on the second Saturday of each month through October. This service is for Johnson County residents by appointment only. Recycling is provided by Extreme Recycling. Call 913-715-6900 to schedule your appointment.

Public Notice Concerning APAC Construction and Demolition Landfill

KDHE held an initial public information meeting on January 21, 2010 where information was presented and questions from the public were answered.  On February 11, 2010, KDHE will hold the official public hearing where verbal and written comments are received regarding the proposal.  The public hearing will  be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Ridge Middle School Commons Area located at 9000 West 165th Street.
