Scheduling An Appointment

For your safety and ours, ALL waste dropoffs are by APPOINTMENT ONLY!

Non-household customers must apply for participation in the program. Please visit the Small Quantity Generator Program.

Household customers call to schedule an appointment or schedule on-line (see link below). Appointments can generally be scheduled the week you call. Mobile pickup is available to homebound residents.

After you have made an appointment, we will provide you with directions to the HHW facility. The facility is located inside a secured county wastewater treatment plant and is not accessible without an appointment.  Directions will be given to you once you've made an appointment.  Directions are not given on this website.  Please call 913-715-6900 if you need more explanation.  We do not accept waste at our main office location in Olathe.

Cancel or reschedule an appointment by emailing us.  Please include the appointment date and time and your name.

Please read the following guidelines:

  • Be sure to package your waste carefully.

  • Make sure lids are on tight.

  • If container is leaking, place in a bucket with kitty litter.

  • Do not leave containers in a hot or freezing car for extended periods or overnight.

  • Package containers in a way that they will not fall over, such as in a box.

  • If possible, re-label containers if the original label is missing.

  • Please do not bring empty containers or containers with dried contents. Place these in your household trash.
