Battery Recycling

Lead Acid (vehicle) batteries are the most common battery we receive. They are recycled through a local battery recycler.

car batteries

Nickel Cadmium batteries such as those commonly used in cellular phones, Lead Gel, and lithium batteries that are used in camcorders, and Nickel Hydride batteries are recycled through the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC). RBRC has a listing of battery drop off locations in the metro area on their website.

Button batteries which are used in cameras, hearing aids and watches are sent to a local battery recycler.

Alkaline batteries commonly used in products such as flashlights, toys, and pagers can be disposed of in the trash. There is currently no recycling options available for alkaline batteries.
