Antifreeze

We receive about 55 gallons per month of antifreeze. Due to the small quantity, we dispose of it through the wastewater treatment system.

You can also dispose of your antifreeze through your household sanitary sewer system, unless you are on a septic tank system.

NEVER dispose of antifreeze in the storm sewer. It is ethylene glycol and is very toxic unless treated at a wastewater treatment plant.

Always clean up spills of antifreeze as your pets will drink it because it is sweet. Without medical intervention, it can be lethal.

Non-toxic versions of antifreeze are available and contain propylene glycol.
