Poisons and Corrosives

Pesticides, poisons, and flammable solids are lab packed by a hazardous waste contractor and disposed of through hazardous waste incineration.

Corrosives are neutralized and disposed of through a wastewater treatment plant.

Pesticides that are still legal to use and are in good shape are available through our product redistribution program. Several city and county agencies make use of them.

On average, about 4 pounds of poisons and corrosives per participant is brought to the site.

Lab packing is handled entirely by our contractor who comes at least monthly to lab pack. Our current contractor is Philips Services Corporation which has a local office in Kansas City.
