Introducing... Buddy the Recycler!

Howdy!  I'm Buddy the Recycler. I want to teach kids the dangers of hazardous materials to themselves and the environment. I also want have some fun!  Let me introduce some of my friends. We're all members of KHHW, a club for kids who want to learn about the environment and how to protect the world we live in. KHHW stands for Kids Helping Heal the World.

This is Shelly. She helps out the environment by keeping her nose close to the ground and reporting anything she finds in the soil and grass that's harmful to the environment. If you find something harmful, never touch it yourself. Tell an adult about it right away.

This is Mrs. Howl and her son.  Just like the adults in your life, she watches over her child and worries about him coming into contact with things that will hurt him. She teaches him about the dangers of hazardous materials. Tell the adults in your life about this website where they can learn more about how to protect you.

This is Mr. Quack. He's our water guy. If he sees anything polluting the water he tells us right away. After all, he has three ducklings of his own swimming around and he wants them to be safe. If you ever see anything floating in a stream or pond or the water looks scary, stay away from it and tell an adult.

This is Miss Hoot. She's our eye in the sky. She reports anything that smells bad or makes it hard for her to breathe. Just like you, she's one smart bird so do what she does. When something funny is in the air get away from the area and tell somebody about it.

This is one of the Helper Mice. He represents the workers at the Hazardous Materials Site who accept hazardous materials from people and dispose of them in an environmentally safe way. His job is very important for the entire community.

And this is Phil. He is very mischievous but he has a good heart. Sometimes his fun causes a problem for the environment around us. But with some guidance from all of us, he's learned a lot about the dangers of hazardous materials and his responsibility in protecting our planet.
