Buddy's Tips to Prevent Poison-Related Accidents

Hey Kids!  Here are some tips that will help prevent poison-related accidents. Pass these on to your parents and ask them to follow these tips in order to protect everyone in your home.

  • Store all cleaning products in containers with child-resistant caps.

  • Keep all containers out of reach of children.

  • Store products in their original containers.

  • Don’t mix cleaning products.

  • Keep children away from household plants.

  • Make sure medication is out of reach and sight of children. Don’t keep it in your purse.

  • Never tell your child that medication is candy.

  • Do not exceed the recommended dosage of any medicine or vitamin without contacting your doctor.

  • Install carbon monoxide and smoke detectors on each level of your house.

If a poison-related accident does occur, contact the poison control anytime day or night at 1-800-222-1222.
