Public Participation Meeting
|

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment will hold a public
participation meeting from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., February 15, 2007,
on an application to expand the APAC-Reno Construction and Demolition
Landfill located at 167th St. and Metcalf Ave. in Overland Park, Kansas. The meeting will be held in the Commons Area of the Blue Valley West High School, 16200 Antioch Road. The modification would increase the permitted area of the landfill from 50 to 82 acres, increase the final elevation from 1,000 ft. to 1024 ft., and add an estimated 14 years of capacity at projected disposal rates. There will be a brief presentation at the beginning of the meeting followed by an informal opportunity for the public to receive some preliminary technical information about the proposed expansion and provide comments early in the application review process. The meeting will not address land use determination previously made by the Overland Park Planning and Development Services Dept.
