The wastewater discharge permit (NPDES discharge permit)
application was finalized with the Kansas Department of
Health and Environment Bureau of Water (KDHE BWM).
The Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan is being reviewed
for updating to correspond with the NPDES discharge permit.

An estimated 2,008,800 cubic feet of landfill gas was removed and
treated in December.

An estimated 734,400 gallons of contact (water that has seeped
through the landfill and accumulated underneath the landfill) water
was removed and treated in December.

All wells are scheduled to be sampled in March 2007.

A new groundwater monitoring well (MW-9)was installed east of the lower pond.
Water levels were measured on the monitoring wells on January 11. No water was
found in MW-9.

The Annual Gas Treatment Report and updated Operations and Maintenance Plan
were forwarded to Johnson County Environmental and KDHE BWM and Bureau of Air
and Radiation (BBAR).

- Average landfill gas concentration in February: Methane

- An estimated 1,817,100 cubic feet of landfill gas was removed
and treated in February.
- An estimated 1,088,640 gallons of contact water (water that has
seeped through the landfill and accumulated underneath the landfill)
was removed and treated in February.
- All wells are scheduled to be sampled in March 2007.
- Transmitters at the west seep and catwalk were affected by cold weather. The one
at the west seep will be replaced in March and the catwalk
transmitter has been ordered.
- Burner maintenance is anticipated in March/April 2007 when the new baghouse
for air pollution control on the asphalt plant is installed.
- APAC has acquired an on-line hydrogen sulfide. It will be installed when the asphalt plant
is down for baghouse installation and maintenance.
- APAC will install 2 contact water removal pumps in the southwest
corner of the landfill in March. Pumps should be operational within
2-3 weeks of installation.

the landfill and accumulated underneath the landfill) was removed
and treated in March.
- All groundwater wells were sampled in March 2007. Final Ground Water
study to be submitted to KDHE and JCED in May
- Transmitters at the west seep and catwalk were affected by cold weather and
replaced in March.
- APAC installed 2 contact water removal pumps in the southwest corner of the
landfill in April, pumping approximately 7.5 gallons per minute.
- Comments
received from KDHE on permit application. Response to be submitted
in early May, 2007.
