Week ending February 11, 2006
During the week of February 5-11, 2006, installation of the gas
collection system continued. Treatment of the water seeping from the
landfill continued. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment,
Bureau of Water, is currently reviewing possible changes to the water
treatment system. Johnson County Environmental Department staff
continued to download data from the eight hydrogen sulfide monitors
located along the perimeter of the landfill. The installation of an
automatic alarm system on the three hydrogen sulfide monitors by the
seep area has been delayed for another week or two. |
