The Solid Waste Management Program monitors and regulates non-hazardous solid
waste management activities in the boundaries within Johnson County. The
program enforces the rules and regulations for the environmentally safe storage,
transportation, processing, and disposal of solid waste for the protection of the
public's safety, health, welfare, and environment.
NEWS: Public Hearings Scheduled on Changes to Solid Waste Code
Johnson County has updated the Code of Regulations
for Solid Waste Management and it is available for
public comment. The Board of County Commissioners
has scheduled two public hearings on the regulations
for July 29: one beginning at 2 p.m. and the other
beginning at 7 p.m. Both hearings will take place in
the Board’s Hearing Room located on the third floor
of the Johnson County Administration Building, 111
S. Cherry, in downtown Olathe. Download the complete
